Norwich 8/13 to beat Reading and over 1.5 goals in Wednesday’s Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Norwich win and over 1.5 goals

Odds: 8/13 @ Bet 365

With the chance to potentially extend their buffer at the top of the Championship to 10 points, high-flyers Norwich will host Reading on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of yet another impressive display in their 4-0 win at home to QPR on Saturday afternoon, the mood in Daniel Farke’s camp could not be any higher. Already holding a seven-point buffer at the top of the table and now winning their last eight matches on the bounce, one man to watch in midweek will be the Championship’s leading goalscorer, Teemu Pukki. Bagging a brace at Carrow Road over the weekend and extending his overall tally to 26 goals this campaign, the Finland international also has happy memories against the Royals. Pukki found that net at the Madejski when Norwich picked up a 2-1 win back in September.

As for the visitors, coming off the back of a 3-1 loss away at Hull over the weekend, fans in Berkshire will be knowing that their side still sit firmly at the heart of a relegation battle. Holding just a one-point buffer from slipping back into the drop zone, a huge part of José Manuel Gomes’ struggles has come down to their form on the road. Along with slipping three against Hull on Saturday, the Royals have recorded just one away victory since the 15th of September. Given the huge gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing another tough evening on the road for Reading.
