Competition: Premier League
Market: Chris Hughton next Premier League manager to leave
Odds: 11/10 @ William Hill
Following a shock 4-1 defeat away to fellow Premier League strugglers Aston Villa, manager Chris Hughton became the odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post, with William Hill giving odds of 10/11.
In the space of just a week, joy & elation for their 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur has now turned to bitter disappointment, and now Hughton faces the sack talk once again. His Norwich side haven’t been in good form of late either. The Canaries have won just two games in their last 13.
The side currently sit in 15th place, with 28 points from 28 matches. Had they have beaten Aston Villa last week, they’d be sitting pretty in 11th – the spot Villa now occupy.
Supporters’ anger with Hughton is down to the negative tactics the manager adopts with Norwich, which has led to City being among the lowest scorers in the Premier League, and the fourth most defeats in the top-flight – while having failed to score in 11 of their games.
To lose 4-1 against a side considered their equal in the fight for survival puts the 55-year old in a precarious position. And with the Norwich hierarchy admitting they have been eyeing up potential candidates to replace him, could this be the end for Hughton at Norwich?
