Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld has drawn interest from Premier League side Norwich City, according to his agent Soren Lerby.
The Belgium international scored four goals in 45 appearances across all competitions for the Dutch side last season as they lifted the Eredivisie title.
Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in bringing the 24-year-old centre-back to the Premier League, and now Chris Hughton’s side could also be eyeing a swoop.
Lerby told De Telegraaf: “I understand they made contact with Marc Overmars (Ajax’s director of football).
“Toby has left the pre-season camp of Ajax in Austria due to personal reasons and I haven’t spoken with him about Norwich yet.
“I don’t know if Toby is interested in a move or not.”
Alderweireld joined Ajax in 2004 from Germinal Beerschot where he spent his youth career and has played for his country at every level from Under-15.
If the deal was to be completed, it would mark Norwich’s fourth signing of the off-season following the arrivals of Birmingham City winger Nathan Redmond, Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel and the permanent capture of Javier Garrido.
