Norwich join race for Destro

Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Norwich City are hot on the trail of AS Roma striker Mattia Destro.

The Italy international does not appear to have future at Stadio Olimpico and everything suggests he will be offloaded this summer.

At the moment, Destro’s agents are in talks with Bologna, but the Serie A newcomers are not the only side hoping to win the chase for the talented forward.

While Bayer Leverkusen are also showing interest, it is Premier League outfit Norwich that have just submitted an official proposal for the player’s services, offering the striker higher salary to that proposed by Bologna.

And while the 24-year-old wouldn’t mind staying in Italy, he is likely to be tempted by the prospect of moving to England.

The reality is Mattia Destro did not show all he’s got at AS Roma, but he did well to score 24 goals in mere 33 Serie A starts.
