Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Premier League side Norwich are stepping up their efforts to sign French defender Mickael Ciani from Lazio.
The Canaries seriously boosted their survival hopes with a last-gasp win over Hull City, but with the team unlikely to avoid the relegation tussle, boss Chris Hughton is on the lookout for defensive reinforcements.
And Norwich seems to be on the verge of completing a deal for Lazio stopper Mickael Ciani.
The Canaries have reportedly offered €2.5 million for the 29-year-old defender, and no doubts the Biancocelesti will seriously consider the proposal given that the player’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
The two clubs have already done some business with Javier Garrido leaving Lazio to join Norwich initially on loan before the deal was made permanent.
Mickael Ciani has made a total of 31 Serie A outings since joining from Bordeaux, scoring 1 goal in the process.
