Market: Nottingham Forest win
Odds: 17/10 @ Bet 365
After heavily investing in his squad during the summer break, Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest side will play the second match of their Spanish pre-season tour when they face off against Malaga on Monday morning.
For Malaga, after years of financial problems and issues behind the scenes, the hosts saw their tenure in La Liga come to an end in rather embarrassing fashion last season. Picking up 20 points out of a possible 118, along with picking up just five domestic wins and holding the worst attacking stats in La Liga, The White and Sky Blue’s will be without last years top-scorer Diego Rolan who has now returned to Bordeaux. Without playing any football in the last two months, Malaga have also recorded just one win since April and we expect Monday will be a test to far.
As for Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest side, although The Reds are coming off the back of a 1-0 loss to Real Betis in their first pre-season appearances, the Championship side dominated the match and the former Boro boss will take away plenty of positives. With their eyes set on securing a playoff position next year, Karanka will be looking for striker Lewis Grabban to carry on his stellar record. After signing earlier this month, the 30-year-old scored 20 Championship goals last season and finished second in the charts.
