According to numerous sources, Nottingham Forest have just enter the race for Jesse Lingard by submitting a ‘substantial’ offer to his representatives, and the talks are already in an advanced stage. The occasional England international already has an offer from West Ham on the table and is believed to be considering his response. There are other offers as well, coming both from the Premier League and abroad, but it appears it will come down to a straight choice between these two clubs.
The 29-year-old, who is a free agent since his contract with Manchester United expired at the end of last month, has already played for the Hammers, contributing with 14 goal involvements (nine goals, five assists) in 16 matches during his temporary spell at the London Stadium in the second half of 2020/21.
West Ham boss David Moyes has spoken about is wish to have Lingard in his ranks again, but Forest are also looking to boost their squad after securing a long-awaited return to the Premier League and Lingard is a player for whom they would be willing to break their established wage structure.
