Notts County manager Shaun Derry is hoping to conclude a deal for former Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll, according to Sky Sports.
The 36 year old former Northern Ireland international is currently a free agent following his release from Olympiakos, where he has spent the past three seasons.
During his time with the Greek Super Lig club, he has racked up just thirty-four appearances in all competitions while he didn’t feature at all last season largely due to the form of first choice shot-stopper Roberto.
Carroll began his senior career with Hull City, while he has also turned out for Wigan Athletic, West Ham United, Rangers, Derby County, Odense and OFI Crete.
During his four seasons with Manchester United he won the Premier League title and the FA Cup while in his last year at Old Trafford he played alongside Alan Smith, who himself secured a move to Meadow Lane in May.
