November 14th: Thursday’s Nations League Double – 3/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With the Nations League getting back under on Thursday night, a host of European giants will steal centre stage.

As the likes of England seek some immediate revenge when they travel over to Greece, Belgium will also welcome Italy to Brussels for what is a heavyweight showdown.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a Thursday flutter, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing Nations League betting tips.

19:45 Greece vs England

With new boss Thomas Tuchel not set to officially take charge at Wembley until January, Lee Carsley will once again be in interim charge on Thursday night. While the Three Lions might have put nine points on the board from their four Nations League appearances this year, the midweek guests face what is a must-win showdown here. Shockingly falling to an infamous 2-1 loss when they welcome Greece to north London last month, the European giants should be bracing themselves for another stern examination on foreign soil. Despite eventually claiming a hard-fought 3-1 win away at Finland on October 13th, England are seeking some much-needed defensive resolve. Suffering EURO 24 heartbreak over the summer as they eventually suffered that 2-1 defeat at the hands of Spain, Carsley’s temporary squad have recorded just a pair of clean sheets from any of their previous eight appearances across all competitions.

Although Greece might have failed to book a EURO 24 ticket back in March as they suffered penalties heartbreak against Georgia, Thursday’s hosts have come roaring back in a sensational fashion. Making real history on October 10th as they clinched a remarkable 2-1 victory at Wembley, the Ethniki find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Getting their Nations League adventure underway on September 7th with a 3-0 romp against Finland, Ivan Jovanovic’s men have won all of their first four appearances. Holding a three-point buffer over England, Greece will be more than aware that they can officially book a shock League A spot on Thursday night. Really gaining a recent reputation for their clinical performances in the final third and notching at least a pair of goals in eight of their previous 10 matchups across all formats, the midweek hosts will be confident of testing a leaky England defence.

19:45 North Macedonia vs Latvia

Although North Macedonia might have signed off their pre-Nations League preparations in the midst of a real struggle, the Lynxes have embarked on a real League C romp. Signing off October’s international break with a routine 2-0 win away at Armenia, Thursday’s hosts are cruising their way to a second-tier ticket. Looking to officially wrap up top spot with another statement in midweek, Blagoja Milevski’s men are riding a real wave of momentum. In fact, the Reds have won each of their last three consecutive Nations League appearances by an aggregate score of 7-0. Storming their way to a stellar 3-0 victory when they travelled over to Latvia last month, North Macedonia will be calling on a repeat performance in midweek. It should also be noted, Milevski’s side have recorded three straight clean sheets for the first time since way back inn March 2018.

Left disappointed last month as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate against the Faroe Islands, Latvia have once again struggled with consistency. Putting just a single win on the board from any of their first four Nations League appearances, the Wolves still have a real battle on their hands in the race to keep hold of their League C status. Falling to that 3-0 drumming when they welcomed North Macedonia to town last month, Thursday’s guests have won just a trio of their previous 19 consecutive matchups across all competitions. With that run stemming all the way back over the past two years, Latvia have also continued to gain a reputation for their glaring issues on foreign soil. In fact, Paulo Nicolato’s camp have failed to register a single victory on their travels since the summer of 2022.
