Saturday, November 16th

BST 12:30 Exeter vs Lincoln

Although Exeter might have signed off October with back-to-back defeats, the Imps have proven that was nothing more than a minor blip. Extending on their FA Cup adventure earlier in the month as they secured a thrilling 5-3 win at home against Barnet, Gary Caldwell’s men are dreaming of the chance to mount a genuine play-off charge this time around. In fact, the Devon-based outfit have won each of their previous three appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 9-6. Knowing that they can skyrocket their way into the top-six this weekend, Exeter will also be excited by their continued success on home soil. It should be highlighted, aside from a 2-1 loss at the hands of Reading last month, Exeter have won each of their other six showdowns at St. James’ Park across all competitions – a run that stems back to another 2-1 defeat against Peterborough on August 24th.

Storming their way to a 5-0 romp against Manchester City’s U21s earlier in the week, Lincoln find themselves in an almost identical position to Saturday’s opponents. While the Imps might have suffered play-off frustration last season as they eventually missed out on a top-six finish, Michael Skubala’s men are pencilled in as a leading contender this time around. Signing off October with a 2-1 victory at home against Northampton, the former Leeds coach has seen his squad lose just a pair of their previous 13 appearances across all competitions. Marking their return to League One action this weekend holding a one-point buffer in the play-off chase, Lincoln will also be excited by their rugged success away from Sincil Bank. Including a 2-1 win against Grimsby last month, Saturday’s guests have remarkably suffered just a sole defeat on their travels since New Year’s Day.

Tip: Goal to be scored in both halves @ 4/5

15:00 Accrington Stanley vs Swindon

While Accrington Stanley might have opened the new campaign in the midst of a real struggle, John Doolan’s men have come roaring back in some style. Putting in what was a dominant display last weekend as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming away at Chesterfield, Saturday’s hosts are enjoying what has become a real flurry. Skyrocketing away from what was a looming League Two relegation scrap, the Lancashire-based outfit should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Extending on their FA Cup adventure earlier in the month as they claimed a 2-0 win away at Rushall, Accrington have won each of their previous three appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 7-1. In fact, Doolan’s camp have suffered just a single defeat from any of their last seven straight matchups across all competitions. It should also be noted, the Reds have not suffered lost a showdown at the Crown Ground since the middle of September.

Although Swindon might have just abut dragged themselves over the finishing line last season, the Robins are at the centre of another League Two struggle. Falling to what was a routine 3-1 loss away at MK Dons last weekend, Saturday’s guests now hold just a one-point buffer from dropping into the relegation zone. Despite signing off October with a 1-1 stalemate at home against Gillingham, new boss Ian Holloway has seen his downbeat squad collect just a single point from any of their previous four League Two appearances. With their recent issues highlighted by a 2-1 loss at home against Doncaster on October 19th, Swindon have also gained a real reputation for their struggles on the road. In fact, the Wiltshire-based outfit have claimed just a pair of League Two victories on their travels from any of their previous 20 attempts – a run that stems back over the past 12 months.

Tip: Accrington Stanley draw no bet @ 4/5

15:00 Yeovil vs Halifax

While Yeovil might have only made their National League return this season, the Glovers have continued to shine since opening up the new campaign. Putting in another eye-catching display last weekend as they clinched a 1-0 victory away at Southend, Mark Cooper’s men open this weekend’s fixtures battling it out in the play-off chase. Signing off October with a thumping 3-1 win at home against Maidenhead, the Somerset-based outfit have collected 13 points from their previous five National League appearances and they are enjoying what has become a real purple patch. Likewise, Saturday’s hosts are unbeaten in all of their last seven consecutive showdowns against fifth-tier opposition. Smelling the chance to make another statement on Saturday afternoon, Cooper’s side will be excited by their continued defensive steel. In fact, Yeovil have conceded just a single National League goal since the end of September.

Although Halifax might open this weekend’s fixtures sat just two points adrift of finding a route into the play-off places, the Shaymen have struggled to find any kind of stability of late. Putting in a nightmare performance earlier in the week as they slumped to a 4-1 drumming against Middlesbrough’s U21s, Saturday’s guests have lost three of their previous four appearances across all competitions. Signing off October with a 2-1 defeat at home against York City, Chris Millington’s men have claimed just a trio of wins from any of their last 10 matchups across all fronts. Failing to collect back-to-back victories since the middle of September, Halifax have also shown some extended issues on the road. Including an action-packed 4-2 loss against Oldham on October 12th, the Blues have lost three of their previous four appearances outside of Yorkshire.

Tip: Yeovil win @ 6/5
