November 27th: Wednesday’s Champions League Double – 5/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With another heavyweight night of Champions League action on the cards this weekend, Wednesday’s fixtures will be highlighted by Real Madrid’s trip to Anfield.

On a night that will also see Aston Villa look to claim an immediate European response, we have plenty of eye-catching affairs from across the continent.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a midweek Champions League flutter, we have taken a glance at some of the most appealing European betting tips.

20:00 Liverpool vs Real Madrid

While fans around Anfield might have been left heartbroken over the summer following Jurgen Klopp’s farewell, Liverpool have enjoyed an astonishing rise since Arne Slot arrived. Mounting a dramatic comeback away at Southampton over the weekend as they marked their return from November’s international break with a 3-2 win at St. Mary’s, the former Feyenoord boss finds the mood in his camp at a red-hot high. Heading into the fortnight interval with a 2-0 win at home against Aston Villa, Wednesday’s hosts will certainly be looking to make another heavyweight statement. Holding a commanding eight-point buffer at the top of the Premier League table and now tipped as the leading title contender, Slot’s men have continued to receive a string of plaudits from across the continent. In fact, Liverpool have won each of their previous five straight appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 14-5. It should also be noted, the Reds have suffered just a single defeat from any of their first 18 appearances across all competitions.

Although Real Madrid might have shown a string of issues when opening November, Los Blancos have claimed a much-welcomed boost on either side of the fortnight interval. However, despite claiming what was a routine 3-0 win against Leganes over the weekend, Carlo Ancelotti’s men still sit four points adrift of arch-rivals Barcelona and top spot in the La Liga table. Last seen in Champions League action getting hit with an infamous 3-1 loss at home against AC Milan, the defending European champions have managed to put just six points on the board. Suddenly facing a real challenge in the race to defend their European crown this season, Wednesday’s guests should be bracing themselves for what will be another stern examination here. Although Ancelotti’s men might be unbeaten in all of their last eight straight meetings against Liverpool across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to March 2009 – Madrid are rightfully pencilled in as a real underdog at Anfield.

20:00 Bologna vs Lille

Marking their return from November’s international break with a 1-0 win against Rennes over the weekend, Lille are enjoying what has been a history-making flurry. Despite getting their Champions League adventure underway on September 17th with a 2-0 loss away at Sporting Lisbon, Bruno Genesio’s men have come roaring back in some style. Claiming what was a famous 1-0 win against defending European champions Real Madrid last month, the Mastiffs collected another heavyweight Spanish scalp just a fortnight later. Storming their way to a remarkable 3-1 romp away at Atletico Madrid on October 23rd, Lille have taken 7 points from their previous three Champions League showdowns. Excited by a trip over to Italy on Wednesday night, Genesio’s side are unbeaten in all of their previous 11 matchups across all competitions. It should also be noted, along with a routine 2-0 victory away at Lens last month, the midweek guests have not suffered a single defeat on their travels since the middle of September.

Although Bologna might have claimed a famous Champions League ticket last season, the Greyhounds have struggled to find much stability this time around. Marking their return from November’s international break with a nightmare performance as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Lazio, Wednesday’s hosts have recorded just a quartet of victories from any of their first 16 appearances across all competitions. Last seen in European action slumping to a 1-0 loss at home against Monaco, Vincenzo Italiano’s men have continued to show some glaring inconsistencies at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. In fact, continuing on from last season, the Greyhounds have recorded just a single victory in front of their own supporters since the start of April. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, Bologna have recorded just a pair of strikes in Emilia-Romagna since way back on August 31st. Claiming just a sole Champions League point so far, Italiano’s side have plenty of pressure on their shoulders.
