November 3rd: Sunday’s European Double – 7/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

Watching Manchester United and Chelsea meet at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon for a heavyweight Premier League showdown, we have a host of European icons stealing centre stage this weekend.

As a high-flying Barcelona look to widen their buffer at the top of the La Liga standings, there are plenty of monumental battles across Sunday.

For those of you looking to stick on a Sunday flutter, we have taken a glance at two of the most appealing European betting tips.

15:15 Barcelona vs Espanyol

While some around the Nou Camp might have been left shocked over the summer following Hansi Flick’s arrival in Catalonia, Barcelona have embarked on a remarkable rise under the German tactician. Putting in what was a famous performance away at bitter rivals Real Madrid last weekend as they secured an iconic 4-0 El Classico victory, Sunday’s hosts are enjoying a sensational purple patch. Now holding a commanding six-point buffer at the top of the La Liga table, Barca have registered 30 points from just their opening 11 top-flight appearances so far this season. Likewise, laying down a heavyweight Champions League marker last week as they secured a 4-1 romp against German giants Bayern Munich, Flick’s high-flying squad will be confident of making another statement here. Marking their return from October’s international break with a 5-1 win against Sevilla, Barcelona have also gained a major reputation for their clinical performances in the final third.

Although Espanyol might have secured a La Liga return for this season, Manolo Gonzalez’s side have drastically struggled to deal with the step up in class. Facing a real battle to keep hold of their top-flight status this time around, the Parakeets have continued to show a string of glaring issues on either side of October’s International break. Putting in another worrying performance last weekend as they fell to a deserved 2-0 loss at home against Sevilla, Sunday’s guests are pencilled in as a leading relegation candidate this year. Marking their return from October’s fortnight interval with a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Athletic Bilbao, Espanyol have now lost five of their previous six La Liga appearances. Signing off September with another 4-1 loss against Los Blancos, Gonzalez’s downbeat squad couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge when they travel across Catalonia this weekend.

Betting Tip: Robert Lewandowski to score the first goals @ 3/1 with Pribet

19:45 Nantes vs Marseille

While Marseille might have continued to shine since Roberto De Zerbi’s arrival over the summer, Sunday’s hosts are certainly seeking an immediate boost here. Missing out on what they had billed as a potential opportunity last weekend as they eventually fell to a 3-0 loss at home against historic rivals PSG, the former Brighton boss knows that his squad cannot afford any more slip-ups. Marking their return to Ligue 1 action sat six points adrift in the title chase, Marseille have now collected just a single victory from any of their previous four Ligue 1 appearances. Nevertheless, marking their return from October’s international break with a stunning 5-0 romp away at Montpellier, De Zerbi’s have really impressed with their success on the road. In fact, the Phocaeans have won four of their first five Ligue 1 showdowns away from the Stade Velodrome so far this season.

Although Nantes might have come flying out of the traps when opening the new campaign as they collected seven points from their first three Ligue 1 appearances, Sunday’s guests have come crashing back down to earth. Slumping to a 3-1 loss away at Strasbourg last weekend, Antoine Kombouare’s side have quickly come tumbling down the table. Now firmly looking over their shoulder at another looming relegation scrap, Nantes are without a win from any of their previous six showdowns against top-flight opposition. Heading into October’s international break with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Lyon, the former Lens boss will also have a major headache over his side’s extended defensive struggles. Failing to record a sole Ligue 1 clean sheet
