November 5th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

With the FA Cup making its return this weekend, we have a string of noteworthy contests on our hands. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday November 5th

BST 14:30 Mainz vs Wolfsburg

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, coming off the back of an action-packed 6-2 loss away at defending champions Bayern Munich, Mainz will be looking to prove that was just a minor blip. Impressing many across the Bundesliga since returning from September’s international break, Christian Heidel’s men are still battling it out in the top-half of the table. Despite watching their three-match domestic winning run come to an abrupt end last weekend, the Reds have managed to find a clinical edge in the final third. On a run that is highlighted by a stellar 5-0 romp against Koln on October 21st, Mainz will now be hoping to find some stability on home soil. Facing what could be a tough test when Wolfsburg come to town on Saturday afternoon, it should be noted that Heidel’s side have seen three of their last four Bundesliga contests at the MEWA Arena have finished with both teams finding the net. As for the Wolves, storming their way to a thumping 4-0 victory at home against Bochum last week, Niko Kovač’s men are now in the midst of a seven-match domestic unbeaten run. Looking to keep up their eye-catching flurry here, Wolfsburg have gained a reputation for their lively outcomes at both ends of the pitch. With Wolfsburg seeing six of their last seven domestic showdowns finish with both teams getting on the scoresheet, we’re backing a similar outcome here.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 8/11

15:00 Bristol Rovers vs Rochdale

Turning their attention back to FA Cup duties on Saturday afternoon, Bristol Rovers will be seeking an immediate boost here. Eventually getting hit with a lively 4-2 loss away at Derby last weekend, Joey Barton’s side will be glad to make a return to the Memorial Stadium. Although the former Fleetwood boss might still find his side battling it out in the bottom-half of the League One table, the Pirates have lost just one of their previous nine matchups across all formats. With that run stemming all the way back to September 24th, the Horfield-based outfit have largely impressed on home soil. On a run that is highlighted by a thumping 3-0 victory against Swindon last month, Barton’s men have taken nine 10 points from a possible 12 in front of their own supporters. With Rochdale last seen putting in a toothless display as they were hit with a 1-0 loss away at Walsall, Jim Bentley’s side will know that they face a tough step up in class this weekend. With just their goal difference keeping them out of League Two’s drop zone, the Blues are currently in the midst of a four-match losing run across all competitions. It should be noted, along with Bristol Rovers claiming an action-packed 4-3 victory when they last faced off against Rochdale back on April 30th, Barton’s men have claimed back-to-back wins against Saturday’s opponents.

Tip: Bristol Rovers win & Over 1.5 goals @ 6/5

20:00 Angers vs Lens

Laying down another real marker last weekend as they cruised their way to a 3-0 romp against Toulouse, Lens are in the midst of what has been a stellar purple patch. With the mood in their camp at a red-hot high, Franck Haise’s men have only continued to gain a string of plaudits from across Ligue 1. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat second in the table and with a stunning Champions League finish at the top of their agenda, fans around the Stade Bollaert-Delelis will be calling on their side to lay down another marker on Saturday night. Remarkably suffering just a single domestic defeat since opening the 2022/23 campaign, Lens have gained a real reputation for their extended defensive resolve. Along with winning each of their last three Ligue 1 matchups by an aggregate score of 5-0, the Yellows have also shipped just a single strike since way back on September 4th. Likewise, last seen on their travels picking up an eye-catching 1-0 victory against Marseille, Haise’s side should be smelling a golden chance here. On the flip side, last seen getting hit with a routine 2-0 loss away at Monaco, Angers are enduring what has become a real Ligue 1 nightmare. Sat rock-bottom of the table and mustering just eight points from their opening 13 appearances, Saturday’s hosts have also lost each of their last five straight top-flight showdowns.

Tip: Lens win & Under 4.5 goals @ 23/20
