French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that Liverpool are closing on Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep.
The highly rated footballer has visited Merseyside on two occasions over the last week or so, which is enough to suggest he is almost certain to move to Anfield in the summer transfer window.
Seeing as Ntep has another two years left on his deal at Stade de le Route de Lorient, Liverpool also need to agree a transfer fee with les Bretons, but it is perfectly clear the player has already made up his mind.
The 22-year-old only joined Rennes from Auxerre in January 2014, but that was only going to be a stepping stone towards joining a top European club.
And with Ntep having managed 14 goals and 5 assists in 42 league outings for les Bretons, it is hardly surprising that Liverpool are hot on his trail.
The Reds are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and they appear to be close to securing the first signature of the summer transfer window.
