New York City FC have named Pascal Jansen as their new head coach ahead of the 2025 MLS season.
Jansen has signed a three-year deal with the club, taking him through 2028, as he replaces Nick Cushing, who departed in November.
The Dutchman joins NYCFC from Ferencvaros where he was in charge for just over six months, leading the Hungarian club to second in the league in 16 matches.
Overall, he took charge of 30 matches in all competitions, having also featured in the Europa League this season, boasting a win percentage of 56.67%, having won 17 of those games.

“I am thrilled to be joining New York City FC. This is a special club with an exciting future, and I’m proud to continue my professional journey here in this amazing city and this rapidly improving league,” Jansen said.
“It’s about mutual respect. Representing one of the top teams in the league is a huge responsibility. The values I stand for as a coach are in line with the club’s values.
“I hope to make all of our fans as happy as possible; we want to continue to grow and develop, but also want to entertain the fans that come out to our games by playing an exciting style of football. I am honored to be a part of the New York City family and look forward to the success we can all achieve together.”
NYCFC reached the MLS playoffs last season after finishing sixth but were knocked out in the Eastern Conference semi-final by city rivals New York Red Bulls.
They begin their preseason against Real Salt Lake on January 24, with Jansen’s first competitive match coming against Inter Miami on February 22.
