According to AS, Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak isn’t interested in negotiating a new deal with the Spanish club right now. The Slovenian keeper had been heavily linked with both Liverpool and Chelsea throughout the summer, but neither move came to fruition. Alisson and Kepa Arrizabalaga wound up ‘taking his place’ so to speak as targets, with PSG also being interested before they went with Buffon – although out of the three clubs, it was the Reds who were said to be the frontrunners.
Oblak’s current deal is scheduled to run out in 2021, but the report suggests that sources close to the international believe he is disappointed in the club as they’ve been dragging their feet over arranging a new deal for a year or so. Given that Oblak also feels as if they haven’t fulfilled promises that were made to him, it seems likely that the 25-year-old could move on in January.
