Oblak set for new Atletico contract?

According to a recent report from Marca, Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is on the verge of signing a brand new contract with the Spanish club. The deal would see his buyout clause rise from the current figure of £85 million, as he prepares to deal with a series of offers from top European clubs in the next few months. At the age of just 26, Jan is widely considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in world football right now – and it’ll take a big effort from Atletico to keep their hands on him.

The belief is that he will be Manchester United’s number one target if David de Gea ends up leaving Old Trafford in the next few months, but the only way that would likely happen is if Real ship Courtois off and bring in de Gea after Courtois’ poor first season at the Bernabeu.

Either way, it seems like we’re in for an interesting few months.
