October 19th: Saturday’s European Accumulator – 7/1

With the October international break officially drawing to a close, all of Europe’s elite will make their respective returns this weekend.

On a Saturday schedule that includes some of Europe’s biggest clubs, we also have a host of eye-catching betting markets that are available.

For those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing European betting tips.

Saturday, October 19th

BST 15:00 Celtic vs Aberdeen

While Celtic might have opened October with a 7-1 drumming away at German giants Borussia Dortmund, the Scottish icons are in the midst of a remarkable domestic romp. Heading into the fortnight interval with a 2-1 win against Ross County, Brendan Rodgers’ men are storming their way to yet another Premiership crown. Flying out of the traps since opening up the new campaign, the former Leicester boss has seen his high-flying squad win all of their first seven top-flight appearances by an aggregate score of 15-6. Although Aberdeen might be riding their own sensational wave of momentum, Celtic will be confident of laying down a real marker on Saturday afternoon. Despite continuing to shine with their free-scoring performances in the final third, the Hoops are seeking some welcomed defensive stability. It should be highlighted, Rodgers’ side have recorded just a sole clean sheet from any of their last five outings.

Although Celtic might have stolen plenty of Scotland’s headlines this season, Aberdeen have firmly cemented their spot as the Premiership’s ultimate surprise package. Embarking on what has become an astonishing rise under Jimmy Thelin, Saturday’s guests find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Heading into October’s international break with an action-packed 3-2 victory at home against Hearts, the former Elfsborg boss has seen his squad win each of their first seven Premiership appearances. However, although the Dons might be dreaming of the chance to book a lucrative European ticket this year, they will certainly be bracing themselves for a monumental challenge in Glasgow this weekend. Hit with a 6-0 drumming when they last travelled to Celtic Park 11 months ago, Aberdeen will be desperate to put in a better account of themselves on Saturday afternoon.

Tip: Celtic win & Both teams to score @ 17/10

17:30 Bournemouth vs Arsenal

Heading into October international break with a 3-1 romp at home against Southampton, Arsenal have continued to shine this season. Once again pencilled in as Manchester City’s main title foe this year, Mikel Arteta’s squad will be looking to lay down another marker here. Laying down a major Champions League marker earlier in the month as they stormed their way to a 2-0 victory against French giants PSG, the Gunners have not suffered a single defeat across any competition since opening up the new campaign. Likewise, signing off September with an action-packed 4-2 win against Leicester, Arsenal have won each of their previous four appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 14-4. Marking their return to Premier League action this weekend sat just one-point adrift of climbing to the top of the table, Arteta’s title contenders should be relishing a trip to the Vitality on Saturday evening.

While Bournemouth might have opened up the new campaign with their sights set on mounting a genuine top-half charge, Saturday’s hosts are seeking a much-welcomed boost. Last seen heading into October’s international break with a toothless 1-0 loss away at Leicester, the Cherries have lost three of their previous four Premier League appearances. Likewise, crashing out of the EFL Cup on August 28th following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham, Andoni Iraola’s side should be bracing themselves for a monumental challenge this weekend. Winning just a pair of their first nine appearances across all competitions, Bournemouth should also be concerned by a nightmare record against Saturday’s guests. Including a routine 3-0 drumming when they last met Arsenal back on May 4th, they have lost each of their previous four top-flight battles by an aggregate score of 13-2.

Tip: Arsenal win @ 7/10

20:00 PSG vs Strasbourg

While PSG might once again be pencilled in as a landslide contender to make more Ligue 1 history this season, the French heavyweights do mark their return from October’s international break seeking a crucial boost. Including a downbeat 2-0 loss away at Arsenal on October 1st, Luis Enrique’s men could only muster a single win from any of their previous four appearances across all competitions. Nevertheless, getting their title charge back underway this weekend, PSG have continued to shine with their dominant performances in the final third. Including a thumping 6-0 romp against Montpellier on August 23rd, Saturday’s hosts have won each of their first four showdowns in front of their own supporters by an aggregate score of 13-2. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, Enrique’s side have already registered 21 goals in just their first seven Ligue 1 appearances so far this season.

Although Strasbourg might have suffered just a single defeat from any of their first seven Ligue 1 appearances this season, Liam Rosenior’s men are seeking some welcomed stability. Eventually forced to settle for an action-packed 2-2 stalemate at home against Lens prior to October’s international break, the former Hull City boss will have a headache over his side’s extended defensive issues. Signing off August with a frantic 4-3 loss at the hands of Lyon, La Racing have registered just a single top-flight clean sheet. Likewise, including a remarkable 3-3 stalemate against Lille last month, Strasbourg have already conceded 14 Ligue 1 strikes this season. Pencilled in as a landslide underdog when they travel to the French capital this weekend, Rosenior’s men have also failed to recorded a sole victory from any of their previous 14 consecutive showdowns against the defending French champions.
