October 29th: Sunday’s Premier League Accumulator – 12/1

Watching the likes of Liverpool returning to Premier League duties this weekend, we have a stacked top-flight schedule on our hands.

With five separate Premier League showdowns throughout Sunday afternoon, we have found a trio of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Sunday, October 29th

BST 13:00 West Ham vs Everton

Watching their history-making European run come to an abrupt end away in Greece on Thursday evening, West Ham do have the feel of a squad seeking a recent boost. Eventually getting hit with a 2-1 loss against Olympiacos, David Moyes’ men have now suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time since opening up the 2023/24 campaign. Marking their return from October’s international break with a nightmare performance last weekend as they suffered a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Aston Villa, the Hammers have also shown some extended issues at the back. However, still dreaming of the chance to mount a top-six charge this time around, West Ham should take some solace from their continued success on home soil. Along with signing off September with a routine 2-0 win against relegation scrappers Sheffield United, Sunday’s hosts have lost just a single contest at the London Stadium since way back on April 26th. On the flip side, marking their return from the fortnight interval with a controversial 2-0 loss against bitter local rivals Liverpool, Everton find themselves at the heart of another relegation scrap. Dealing with some public issues behind the scenes and with a potential 12-point deduction looming over them, Sean Dyche’s side make the trip to east London this weekend holding just a three-point buffer over slipping into the drop zone. Losing each of their last two trips to the London Stadium by an aggregate score of 4-1, we are backing a home victory here.

Tip: West Ham win & Under 4.5 goals @ 13/8

14:00 Aston Villa vs Luton

Putting in another rampant performance in midweek as they cruised their way to a 4-1 Europa League romp away at AZ Alkmaar, Aston Villa are in the midst of a remarkable purple patch. Marking their return from October’s international break with another 4-1 victory against West Ham, Unai Emery’s side have continued to gain a string of plaudits. Sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the Champions League positions, the former Arsenal boss will be smelling another golden chance here. Signing off September with a stunning 6-1 win against Brighton, Sunday’s hosts have also gained a fearsome reputation for their success in the Midlands. In fact, Emery’s side have remarkably won all of their previous 11 showdowns at Villa Park – a run that stems all the way back to March 4th. Looking to skyrocket into the top-four this weekend, Emery’s side will be calling on the red-hot Ollie Watkins to spearhead their charge in the Midlands. Once again finding the net on Europa League duties in midweek, the England international has already notched nine goals across all competitions. Although Villa might be dreaming of the chance to mount a genuine Champions League charge, Luton are firmly battling it out at the other end of the table. Although the Hatters might have been last seen mounting a stunning last-gasp comeback away at Nottingham Forest, Rob Edwards’ side will be more than aware that they face a heavyweight challenge on Sunday afternoon.

Tip: Ollie Watkins to score anytime @ 21/20

14:00 Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest

While Liverpool might have been left hugely frustrated last season as they missed out on the chance to claim a crucial Champions League ticket, the Reds have come roaring back this time around. With some around Anfield starting to believe that their side could mount a genuine title charge this year, Sunday’s hosts have gained plenty of plaudits. Suffering just a single defeat across any competition since opening up the 2023/24 campaign, Jurgen Klopp’s side have also gained a recent reputation for their clinical performances in the final third. Last seen earlier in the week laying down another Europa League marker as they secured a 5-1 romp against French outfit Toulouse, Jurgen Klopp’s side have bagged at least a pair of goals in 11 of their previous 12 appearances. Riding what has been a recent wave of momentum, Liverpool should be smelling a golden opportunity here. Watching Nottingham Forest suffer an infamous collapse against top-flight returners Luton last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 2-2 stalemate at the City Ground, Sunday’s guests are desperately seeking some much-needed stability. In fact, Steve Cooper’s side have recorded just a single win from their last eight straight Premier League showdowns – a run that stems all the way back to August 18th. Likewise, hit with a 3-2 loss when they travelled to Anfield last season, we are expecting Klopp’s title dark horses to make another statement on Merseyside.
