October 3rd: Tuesday’s English Double – 3/1 Special, Tips & Predictions

While the Champions League might make its return on Tuesday, we have another stacked schedule on the cards from across England’s professional tiers.

In what promises to be another rollercoaster night of action, we have found a couple of intriguing tips that are worth keeping an eye out for on Tuesday.

19:45 Dorking Wanderers vs Kidderminster Harriers

While Dorking might have been disappointed last season as they had to settle for a bottom-half finish, the Wanderers have their sights set on trying to mount a famous play-off charge this time around. Continuing on a recent purple patch and riding a recent wave of momentum, Tuesday’s hosts will be looking to make another National League statement here.

Putting in a hugely impressive performance over the weekend as they claimed a 2-0 victory away at Hartlepool, the mood in Marc White’s camp remains at a red-hot high.

In fact, on a run that is highlighted by a 3-1 romp against Wealdstone last month, Dorking have collected 12 points from their previous five National League appearances.

It should also be noted, the Surrey-based outfit have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous seven fifth-tier contests – a run that stems all the way back to August 28th.

Currently sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the play-off places, Dorking will be looking to cash in on a Kidderminster squad who are enduring a public National League struggle.

Already tipped as a leading relegation contender this time around, Tuesday’s guests have lost each of their previous five appearances by an aggregate score of 10-3.

Likewise, putting just a single National League point on the board since the end of August, the Harriers should also be worried by their most recent trip to Surrey.

Hit with an action-packed 3-2 defeat when they last met the play-off dreamers back on January 14th, a similar home victory can be found at appealing odds here.

20:00 West Brom vs Sheffield Wednesday

While West Brom might have shown a host of extended issues on either side of September’s international break, the Baggies certainly claimed a welcomed boost over the weekend. With their sights firmly set on mounting a genuine play-off charge this time around, Tuesday’s hosts will be smelling a golden chance when they return to the Hawthorns here.

Last seen a few days ago putting in a season-best display as they claimed a thumping 4-0 victory away at a high-flying Preston, Carlos Corberan’s men will be desperate to use that performance as a platform to build on.

Opening the midweek fixtures sat just three points adrift of breaking into the top-six, the former Huddersfield boss will take some solace from his side’s recent improvements at the back.

Including a pair of 0-0 stalemates against Millwall and Bristol City last month, West Brom have recorded a clean sheet in three of their previous four Championship showdowns.

On the flip side, while Sheffield Wednesday might have claimed a Championship return for this season, it is fair to say that Tuesday’s guests are in the midst of a second-tier nightmare.

Putting in another woeful performance over the weekend as they slumped to a routine 3-0 drumming at home against Sunderland, Xisco Munoz already has a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders.

In fact, along with mustering just a single point from their previous four appearances, the Owls are still waiting to put a first Championship victory on the board.

Hit with a 3-0 loss when they last met the play-off hopefuls back in July 2020, we are expecting a similar home win on Tuesday night.
