October 7h: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 5/1

With Europe’s elite making their respective returns on Saturday afternoon, we have another heavyweight schedule on the cards. So, for those of you looking to place a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday, October 7th

BST 12:30 Luton vs Tottenham

Last seen snatching a hugely controversial 2-1 win at home against Liverpool, Tottenham have only continued to shine since they welcomed Ange Postecoglou to north London. While Spurs might have come under a huge amount of scrutiny last season as they missed out on punching any kind of European finish, the former Celtic boss finds the mood in his camp at a red-hot high. With their sights firmly set on clinching a Champions League return this season, Saturday’s hosts have certainly come flying out of the traps. Mustering seven points from their opening seven Premier League appearances, Tottenham are also yet to suffer a single top-flight defeat. Gaining a reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third, Ange Postecoglou will be calling on attacking talisman Heung-Min Son to spearhead their charge here. Once again finding the net against Liverpool last weekend, the South Korean ace has now notching six Premier League goals in his last four top-flight contests. On the flip side, making an immediate return to losing ways earlier in the week as they slumped to a 2-1 loss at home against fellow Premier League returners Burnley, it is no secret that Rob Edwards’ men are tipped as a leading relegation contender this time around. Crashing back down to earth after their 2-1 win away at Everton last weekend, the Hatters will be more than aware that they face a heavyweight challenge on Saturday lunchtime.

Tip: Heung-Min Son to score anytime @ 23/20

14:30 RB Leipzig vs Bochum

Eventually falling to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Premier League giants Manchester City earlier in the week, RB Leipzig will be excited to make a return to Bundesliga duties here. Although Marcos Rose’s side might have suffered a first Champions League defeat in midweek, the Red Bulls have still impressed many since opening up the 2023/24 campaign. Dreaming of the chance to mount a genuine title charge this time around, the one-time Borussia Dortmund boss should be smelling a golden chance on Saturday afternoon. Mustering 13 points from their previous five Bundesliga appearances, Leipzig have also picked up some eye-catching scalps. Signing off August with an action-packed 5-1 win against a high-flying Stuttgart, Rose’s side will be calling on attacking talisman Lois Openda to lead their charge here. Bagging what turned out to be a consolation strike against City in midweek and now notching back-to-back goals, the 23-year-old has also resisted four domestic strikes since opening the new campaign. While Bochum might have cruised their way to Bundesliga safety last season, Thomas Letsch’s side are in the midst of a public top-flight struggle. Last seen putting in a nightmare performance last weekend as they slumped to a 3-1 loss at home against Borussia Monchengladbach, the Blues are already battling it out in the drop zone. Including a woeful 7-0 drumming against Bayern Munich on September 23rd, Bochum are yet to record a single victory.

Tip: Lois Openda to score anytime @ 1/1

15:00 Leicester vs Stoke

Although Leicester might have shockingly lost their Premier League status last season, the Foxes appear to be breezing their way to an immediate top-flight return this season. Only continuing to shine since they appointed Enzo Maresca over the summer, Saturday’s hosts are enjoying a major Championship flurry. Putting in another rampant performance earlier in the week as they claimed a 3-0 romp against Preston, the ex-Manchester City coach should find the mood in his camp at a real high. Marking their return from September’s international break with a 4-1 victory against Southampton, Leicester will be looking to make another statement here. In fact, along with winning each of their last five straight Championship appearances, Maresca’s side have also collected 27 points from their opening 10 second-tier showdowns. Continuing to impress with their clinical displays in the final third, the Foxes should be relishing Stoke’s arrival to the King Power here. Although Saturday’s guests might have claimed a welcomed boost against Bristol City last weekend, Alex Neil’s men immediately came crashing back down to earth a few days ago. Eventually suffering a 1-0 loss at the hands of Stoke, the former Norwich boss has seen his squad win just one of their last seven appearances across all competitions – a run that stems back to August 29th. Hit with a 4-0 drumming when they last met Leicester on FA Cup duties back in January 2021, we are expecting a similar home victory here.

Tip: Leicester win @ 4/7
