Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard hopes to leave Santiago Bernabeu in search of first team football, Marca has suggested.
The 16-year-old has been training with the senior squad, but he has yet to make Rafael Benitez’s match squad this season.
And despite playing regularly for Real Madrid Castilla, the youngster believes he is ready to play in a stronger competition and has expressed his desire to leave los Blancos on loan in the January window.
The lack of playing time has seen Odegaard lose his place in Norway national team starting line-up and that is another reason why he wants to join a high-profile side.
Chances are there will be quite a few La Liga sides ready to take Odegaard on a six-month loan deal, but Real Madrid officials believe that a move to Getafe would be the best solution.
That way, Odegaard would remain close to his Madrid home and at the same time get an opportunity to prove his worth in Spain’s elite division.
