English media outlet The People understands that Celtic and Rangers are locked in the battle for former West Ham United midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker.
The 32-year-old has been a free agent since agreeing to a mutual termination with Montreal Impact back in January, but he has yet to find a new club.
After spending last few years in Major League Soccer, representing Vancouver Whitecaps, Chivas USA and Montreal Impact, the midfielder is reportedly ready to return to the UK.
However, the Old Firm rivals could face stiff competition for the player’s signature from the likes of Leeds, Wolves, Aston Villa, Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday.
Nigel Reo-Coker had made a name for himself at West Ham United, where he scored 11 goals in 120 league appearances before joining Aston Villa in 2007.
The holding midfielder also enjoyed spells with Wimbledon, Bolton Wanderers and Ipswich Town in England.
