Competition: League Two
Market: Oldham win
Odds: 8/11 @ Bet 365
Really enjoying life under Paul Scholes, Oldham will welcome Morecambe to Boundary Park Tuesday night.
Starting with Scholes’ side, while Oldham may have suffered some late heartbreak against playoff contenders Crewe last weekend, the former Manchester United legend will be impressed with the early stages of his tenure. Now unbeaten in their last three, including putting four past Yeovil in Scholes first match in charge, the Latics should be confident of extending that tally. Looking to make a very surprising push for the top six in the second half of the season, one man to watch on Tuesday will be attacker Chris Lang. Finding the net over the weekend, the 20-year-old now has two in his last two.
As for the visitors, while Morecambe may have managed to pick up a much-needed 1-0 win over Port Vale on Saturday, it doesn’t cover what has been a worrying start to the New Year for Jim Bentley’s men. Holding just a three-point buffer from slipping into the relegation zone, the Reds have recorded just one win in their last nine attempts, a run that stems back to the middle of December. Drastically struggling in their form away from the Globe Arena, we’re backing another successful night for Scholes’ resurgent side.
