Competition: FA Cup Final
Market: Olivier Giroud to score anytime
Odds: 7/4 @ 888sport
With London bragging rights and a chance for both sides to lift their first piece of silverware of the season on the line this weekend, Chelsea and Arsenal will face off at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with Arsenal, while they might have managed to hold onto a dramatic 3-2 win against Watford last weekend, a result that sent the Hornets down, their defensive issues have been a huge headache for Mikel Arteta. Missing out on a top-six finish and enduring their worst Premier League finish since 1994, their recent inconsistencies were highlighted in a shock 1-0 defeat away at Aston Villa earlier in the month. With their semi-final victory over Manchester City their only clean sheet over their previous seven matches across all competitions, Pep Guardiola’s former right-hand man could also be concerned by their worrying record against Saturday’s opponents. Collecting just a single point over their last three top-flight meetings against Chelsea, they have managed to win just one of their last seven meetings against the Blues.
As for Chelsea, putting in what was a professional display last weekend and ending their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win against Wolves in West London, the mood in Chelsea’s camp should be at a high. Securing a top-four finish in their first campaign under Head Coach Frank Lampard, the former England midfielder will be hugely excited by Olivier Giroud’s stunning end to the campaign. Once again finding the net against Wolves at Stamford Bridge last time out, the former Gunners striker has now managed to find the net in his last four appearances on the bounce. Cementing his spot as Lampard’s number one choice up top, the World Cup-winner has recorded seven post-lockdown strikes, including finding the net against Manchester United at Wembley a fortnight ago.
