Ollie Watkins about to sign new Aston Villa contract?

Ollie Watkins is close to signing a new contract with Aston Villa, according to 90min. The report has claimed that the striker is finalising terms over a fresh deal with Premier League club Villa despite having interest from other teams.

Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all are interested in signing Watkins from Premier League rivals Villa in the summer transfer window. However, the striker is happy at the Villans and see his long-term future under former Arsenal manager Unai Emery at Villa Park.

Watkins has made 29 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Villa so far this season, scoring 14 goals and giving six assists in the process. The 27-year-old scored 11 goals and gave two assists in 33 Premier League starts for the Villans last season.
