Greek side Olympiacos have completed the signing of Argentine winger Jesus Datolo on loan from Napoli. The 25 year old will stay at the Karaiskakis Stadium till the end of the season, following which Olympiacos have an option to make the transfer permanent by paying Napoli a fee of 4.5 million euros.
Datolo was looking for a move away from Napoli in order to protect his spot at the 2010 World Cup. French club PSG were also interested in securing his signature, but Datolo chose to move to Greece and now joins compatriots Cristian Ledesma and Luciano Galletti in Athens.
Datolo began his career with Canuelas in his native Argentina. He joined Banfield in 2002 and completed a big move transfer to Boca Juniors in 2006. In January last year, he crossed the Atlantic to move to Napoli.
Datolo made his senior debut for Argentina last August against Russia.
