This week’s top clash in the Greek league, between Olympiakos Piraeus and AEK Athens, had the home side take the points and the lead.

No goals were scored in the first half hour, but Kovacevic then broke the deadlock in Olympiakos’ advantage.

Carlos Diogo added a second only three minutes later, and AEK never had the strength to fight their way back into the game. In fact, the away side went down to ten thanks to a second booking for Juanfran with twelve minutes left.

Olympiakos now have 13 points from five games, two points more than PAOK Saloniki who forgot to score at Ergotelis Heraklion on Saturday.
