Olympiakos jumped back to the top of the Greek Super League, at least for a day, following a 1-0 win over Panionios this Saturday.
The only goal of the match, played at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskaki, was scored by Moroccan midfielder Jaouad Zairi in the 17th minute.
The victory was Olympiakos’ 14th in a row over Panionios, who haven’t beaten the Piraeus outfit since 2002.
Olympiakos move into first place with 13 points from five games, but may drop back to second after Panathinaikos’ game with AEK Athens on Sunday.
