Olympiakos beat Xanthi to defend lead

Olympiakos Piraeus successfully defended their lead in the Greek league, earning a narrow away victory to Xanthi on Saturday.

Leonardo put the defending champions in the lead after 31 minutes, and his goal was enough for Olympiakos to walk away with the points.

Panathinaikos host Atromitos on Sunday and need a win to restore the one-point gap with Olympiakos.

Third-placed PAOK Saloniki returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Larissa. Vladimir Ivic scored the only goal from the penalty spot after just four minutes.
