Olympiakos cruise to victory, PAOK follow

Olympiakos Piraeus easily won Saturday’s home match with Asteras Tripolis to jump into first place in the Greek Super League.

The opening goal came from Swede Olof Mellberg in the 35th minute, and Kostas Mitroglou doubled the advantage eight minutes after the break. Jaouad Zairi found the target in minute 67 for a 3-0 final score.

Panathinaikos will now face the task of winning their away match to Kavala on Sunday in order to reconquer the top spot.

PAOK Saloniki climbed to third place following a 2-0 win over PAS Giannina, while Ergotelis forgot to score against Aris (0-0). Lino and Nikos Arabatzis scored for PAOK, both goals coming just before the break.
