The Greek league seems all but decided as Olympiakos’ most prominent rivals, Panathinaikos, were held to a goalless draw by Iraklis Saloniki on Sunday.

Olympiakos had already beaten another Thessalonikian side, Aris, a day earlier.

Panathinaikos really needed a win if they wanted to limit the damage, but the Athens outfit failed to score at Iraklis. As such, the gap with leaders Olympiakos grows to no less than 14 points.

With just eight rounds to play, Olympiakos are practically certain of winning the league. Numbers two to five are to appear in Champions League play-offs. At this moment, those teams would be Panathinaikos, PAOK, AEK and AE Larisa.
