Olympic favorites Brazil began their group campaign with a narrow win over Belgium. The Seleçao needed until the 79th minute to decide the clash.
The Brazilian squad, including Ronaldinho, Rafinha and Diego, started their Olympic tournament at Shenyang’s stadium and were given plenty of difficulties by their opponents.
Dunga’s men had problems breaking through the Belgian defense and weren’t far away from dropping two valuable points in their opening match. However, the score was eventually opened by defender Hernanes to earn his side a hard fought victory.
Brazil could only score the goal when Belgium were already down to ten thanks to a red card to one of their key players, Vincent Kompany. And a few minutes from the final whistle, it was Marouane Fellaini to follow his team mate for an early shower.
