Andre Onana will leave Ajax when his contract expires at the end of the season – there will be no extension, according to Fabrizio Romano. Club director Marc Overmars says there are no talks about it anymore – they tried, but they’ve moved on. As things stand at the moment, the 25-year-old goalkeeper is likely to make his way to Inter Milan as a free agent. The Serie A champions are pushing hard to make it happen.
André Onana will NOT extend his contract with Ajax. Inter are really close to sign him as free agent for June 2022. 🔵🇨🇲 #Inter

The Cameroonian himself recently said he was open to staying at Ajax past next summer only a couple of days ago, but it seems the plug has been pulled on the reported negotiations. He also revealed that he was close to joining OGC Nice and Olympique Lyon at different points during this year’s summer window, but neither of the two Ligue 1 clubs managed to reach an agreement with Ajax.
Onana has 83 clean sheets in 205 appearances for the Eredivisie champions in all competitions, and he’s still under a doping ban which expires in early November.
