(GSM) – Once Caldas secured their spot in the Copa Libertadores round of sixteen with a 1-0 win over Paraguayan side Nacional on Thursday.
As third-placed Monterrey only managed a draw with Sao Paulo a day earlier, a win was enough for Once Caldas to advance to the next round.
The only goal of the match, played in Manizales, came from Once’s John Jairo Valencia in the 14th minute.
This win also leads Once Caldas to first place in Group 1, at the expense of Sao Paulo. The battle for the top spot has the two teams face off in Sao Paulo on April 21.
