(GSM) – Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill will let want-away star James Milner leave the club if the price is right.

Manchester City have sounded their interest in the England winger and had seen their bid to sign the player before the World Cup turned down.

Milner said he would love to move to Eastlands after snubbing a new contract offer from Villa.

And O’Neill has now conceded that Milner may leave the club if City meet Villa’s valuation of the player.

O’Neill said: “I had a conversation with James before the World Cup and he intimated that he’d like to go.

“I’d imagine things will be resolved in foreseeable future.

“City made an offer but it did not meet our valuation.

“I’m sure matters will be resolved soon. James is back next week having had extended holiday.”

It is believed that Villa are holding for £30million in order to sell their prized asset.
