Ooijer set for PSV return

Dutch defender Andre Ooijer is set to return to PSV Eindhoven at the end of this season. By then, he will have spent three years in the Premier League.

Ooijer played for PSV from 1997 to 1996 and became one of the team’s main pilars during that period. However, internal struggled led to the player’s departure to Blackburn Rovers in 2006.

In an interview with Dutch magazine VI, Ooijer explained the move: “There is no definitive deal yet. There are some things that need to be arranged yet. But there’s a very big chance that I’ll return.

“Last year I said that I’d like to return to the Netherlands. When PSV come knocking on your door, it’s clear. I had nine great years at PSV in the past,” the 34-year-old added.
