Liverpool F.C. forward Divock Origi, who is currently on loan at Lille OSC, has revealed he would welcome a return to his parent club in January.
The Belgium international, 19, joined Liverpool Lille in a deal worth £10 million in the summer, and was immediately allowed to rejoin Les Dogues on a season-long loan deal.
According to reports, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is contemplating whether he should bring back Origi in the New Year, and understandably so.
The Reds’ strike-force has struggled this season, with Daniel Sturridge injured, while Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have been out-of-form.
“It is not me who makes the decisions but if the club choose to let me go in January, I would join Liverpool,” Origi said.
“I said that I would stay for the whole season and I wish to remain honourable to that, of course.
“But if there was a decision by the clubs, I would not say that I would not like to go to Liverpool in January.
“I would love to move to Liverpool sooner rather than later.
“I can’t wait to be playing in the Premier League because I can now see that it will suit me better. I think there are good things waiting for me with Liverpool.”
Origi has bagged four goals in 15 appearances in all competitions for Lille this season.
Odegaard reveals ‘dream club’
Stromsgodset starlet Martin Odegaard has revealed that Liverpool have always been his dream club.
The Norway international, 15, recently made his senior debut for his country and is regarded as one of Europe’s most highly-rated young talents.
Odegaard has been linked with the likes of Ajax, Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juvenuts, Manchester United, Real Madrid over the past few months, but Liverpool are his dream club.
“Liverpool have always been my dream club,” Odegaard told Sport Bild.
“But I will not let this affect my decision when I choose a new club. It’s all about finding the team that is best for me and for my development.
“That is not necessarily Liverpool.”
When asked if he would be open to joining a club in the Germany’s top-flight, Odegaard added: “Yes, I can see myself playing in the Bundesliga. The German league is very strong.
“I don’t really have a favourite team in Germany, but Bayern and Dortmund are the teams I am following. They have shown in the Champions League that they are among the best.
“I didn’t take part in training at Dortmund. We only talked and they showed me around. Jurgen Klopp explained how the club works, how Dortmund feel about me and what they can offer me.
“I trained with Bayern and Stuttgart youth teams for a few days. The level is a lot higher than at the Norwegian youth teams. There was a big difference.”
