Origi wants early Liverpool return; Southampton eyeing Martins Indi

Liverpool striker Divock Origi admits that he would prefer to join his new club in January rather than in the summer.

The Reds purchased the highly rated forward from Lille in the summer transfer window, but then loaned him back to Grand Stade Lille Metropole.

And while Origi was not supposed to return to Anfield before next summer, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers wants the Belgian to arrive in January in an attempt to solve the attacking crisis.

The player himself is eagerly anticipating the move to England and admits he would rather move in January, provided the two clubs can reach an agreement.

“Maybe January, who knows?” Origi was quoted as saying in Daily Mirror. “It’s not me who makes the decisions, but if the club choose to let me go in January, I would go. I would like to join Liverpool then.

“Although I agreed to stay with Lille until the end of this season, if there was that chance of joining Liverpool sooner, I would take it – I would love to move sooner rather than later.”

The 19-year-old forward has made a total of 11 Ligue 1 appearances for les Dogues this term and scored three goals.

Southampton eyeing Martins Indi

Premier League high-flyers Southampton are keeping close tabs on FC Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi, according to A Bola.

The Saints signed Toby Alderweireld on loan from Atletico Madrid as a short-term replacement for Dejan Lovren, but it appears they are exploring the possibility of recruiting the Netherlands international in the summer.

Southampton had the defender watched in the weekend’s 2-2 draw between Estoril and Porto, and they continue to monitor the 22-year-old with a view of luring him to St Mary’s in the near future.

Bruno Martins Indi only joined the Dragons in the summer, after impressing at Feyenoord, and he has been in fine form this season, starting nine league matches and scoring one goal.

The highly rated centre-back has a contract until June 2018 at Estadio do Dragao and a €40 million release clause, meaning he will not be available on the cheap.

Having enjoyed a brilliant start to the new Premier League campaign, Southampton can be backed at 2/1 for a top 4 finish.

Sevilla keen on Nacional starlets

Portuguese media outlet Record has learned that Spanish giants Sevilla are showing interest in Nacional youngsters Lucas Tigrao and Mohamed Kaba.

Los Rojiblancos have been alerted of the players’ potential and they have been closely monitoring their performances for Nacional youth sides.

Sevilla officials aim to make their interest concrete either in January or in the summer as they want to sign the two youngsters before they can make an impact in the senior side.

Lucas Tigrao is a Brazilian centre-back who has already spent some time on trial at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, with the 18-year-old showing a great deal of potential of late.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Kaba is a left-sided defender who can also operate further up the pitch and he, too, is just 18 at the moment.

Having suffered two setbacks in a row, Sevilla travel to Camp Nou to face Barcelona, and they are 10/1 shot to win in Catalunya.
