Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu admits he is hoping to remain at Valencia beyond the current season.
The Spaniard was loaned to los Che last summer and despite suffering a knee injury while at Mestalla, he has managed to prove his worth in Spain’s top flight.
As a result, Valencia are looking into the possibility of turning his loan deal into permanent move, and everything suggests Chelsea will not stand in his way.
Romeu has now revealed that he is hoping to remain at Valencia, although he is aware much will depend on his parent club.
“I’m very happy here. The latest we know is that Valencia are happy with me and they would like me to stay,” Romeu told Marca.
“I’m very comfortable here, but we’ll have to wait until the end of the season. I still have a year on my contract and anything can happen. It’s up to Chelsea to decide.”
Oriol Romeu has one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, but chances are the Blues will cash in on the Spaniard in the summer to avoid losing him on free transfer.
Chelsea sit two points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool with four games to go and they are available at 11/4 to lift the coveted trophy.
