Ortiz joins Alkmaar

Paraguayan youngster Celso Ortiz is set to complete his move to AZ Alkmaar in the next few days.

Ortiz is set to undergo a medical in Holland before signing a contract with the Dutch giants.

“I am very happy about having the opportunity to make this transfer in my career,” he said.

“The truth is that it has happened very quickly. I know this because of all the hard work I have been doing.

“I have been working very hard here and I expect to have success over there.

“If I get the chance to play in the Champions League that would be very motivating, it would be like a dream come true.

He added: “Regarding my new team, I have been told that there are many South American players in the team so maybe I will have the chance to make new friends and that will help me to adapt.

“Cerro gave me everything, I am very thankful to the club, and I am a little bit sad to be leaving, but in a profession like this you have to get used to it.

“All my family is very happy with this chance in my career and I must thank them for their support.”
