Looking to extend on their recent purple patch on Friday night, Osasuna will welcome Granada to the El Sadar when this weekend’s La Liga fixtures open up.

Starting with the hosts, marking their return from the international break with a stunning display on the road, the mood in Osasuna’s camp will be at a red-hot high. Shocking many across Spain last weekend as they stormed their way to a 2-1 victory against Europa League champions Villarreal, Jagoba Arrasate’s side are in the midst of a stellar purple patch. Opening up Friday’s fixtures sat with just their goal difference keeping them outside the Champions League spots, Osasuna are enjoying a three-match winning run. With that run highlighted by an action-packed 3-2 win away at Mallorca last month, Los Rojillos have also collected 12 points from their last five La Liga matchups. Also last seen on home soil landing a deserved 1-0 victory against Rayo Vallecano, Arrasate’s men will be looking to lay down another marker this weekend.

As for the visitors, managing to snatch what was a stunning victory when returning from the international break, there is no doubt that Granada will be desperate to build off of that momentum. However, while they might have landed a shock 1-0 win against local rivals Sevilla last weekend, Robert Moreno’s men were hugely outplayed on home soil and will know that they were lucky to have left with maximum points. Still at the heart of a relegation scrap and looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Granada have collected just six points since opening the 2021/22 campaign. With that run highlighted by a 4-0 romp against Rayo Vallecano when drawing an end to August, it should also be noted that they suffered a 3-1 loss the last time they made the trip to the El Sadar.
