Brazilian sensation Oscar has drawn praise from team-mates Petr Cech and David Luiz following his brace against Juventus on Wednesday.
Oscar was handed his full debut as the defending UEFA Champions League winners opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw at home to Juventus.
The Brazilian played a starring role as Chelsea took a 2-0 lead over the Serie A champions inside 33 minutes.
But Oscar was let down by his supporting cast with defensive lapses forcing Roberto Di Matteo’s side to settle for a share of the spoils.
Despite Chelsea’s inability to hold a two-goal lead at Stamford Bridge, Oscar announced himself on the scene and Cech was happy to see the 21-year-old showcase his talents following a big-money transfer from Internacional in July.
“He’s a very talented guy and it’s great for him to score two goals because, for his age, he cost a lot of money,” the Czech international said.
“So there is a lot of pressure on him, and it’s great for people to see how good he can be for this football club and today I was very pleased that he got his goals and he played very good football.
“He played nice, simple football. He’s always in the movement, always available and really efficient.”
Luiz, meanwhile, believes his fellow countryman has what the right qualities to make the step up to international football in the coming years.
“I think he has a great future, not only with Chelsea but with the national team,” he said. “So tonight he showed who is Oscar.”
