Argentine daily newspaper Ole has learned that Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi has agreed to join Manchester United in the summer.
The Red Devils turned their attention towards the La Liga star after Mats Hummels decided to remain with Borussia Dortmund, but the deal is far from being completed.
While Otamendi has agreed personal terms with Manchester United, the two clubs have yet to find common ground regarding the transfer fee.
The Red Devils experienced all sorts of problems at the back during the current season and they believe the Argentina international will add much needed stability to the back line.
Otamendi has been earning rave reviews for his performances in La Liga, having even managed to score 5 goals in 34 league outings this term.
Valencia will secure another Champions League qualification if they defeat relegation strugglers Almeria on the final day of the season, with los Che 2/3 favourites to emerge victorious.
