Former Greece coach Otto Rehhagel has openly expressed interest in becoming next Austria coach.
The Austrian Football Federation sacked coach Dietmar Constantini few days ago following some very disappointing showings during the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.
The national team chiefs plan to appoint a new boss by the start of November and they already have several candidates.
Franco Foda, Marco Pezzaiuoli and Christoph Daum are reportedly in the mix, but Otto Rehhagel has now shown interest in the post.
“I became a European Champion with Greece,” Otto Rehhagel told Wiener Zeitung.
“What I have taught the Greeks, I can also teach the Austrians.”
The 73-year-old has been out of job since leaving Greece in June 2010, but it appears that he is still not ready to retire.
