Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham was disappointed after their 3-1 loss at Chicago Fire on Thursday.
The Galaxy ace believes their confidence could have been too high following their 5-2 victory over D.C. United on Saturday.
“I don’t know,” Beckham told reporters. “Our confidence may have been too high going into the game.”
“We need to pick ourselves up because we’re running out of games.”
Los Angeles Galaxy needs to do well in their remaining games of the season if they want to reach the playoffs.
Chris Rolfe scored two and Cuauhtemoc Blanco scored one for Chicago Fire, while Eddie Lewis scored Los Angeles Galaxy’s goal in the match.
Fire coach Denis Hamlett said: “In big games, you put big players on the field. Around the goal, [Rolfe] is very clinical.”
