Over 2.5 goals at Atalanta vs Valencia 8/11 for Wednesday’s Champions League showdown

Competition: Champions League

Market: Over 2.5 goals

Odds: 8/11 @ Bet 365

In what could be yet another lively contest in Italy this week, Atalanta will look to gain an early advantage when they welcome Valencia to Bergamo on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, battling from behind to pick up a 2-1 win over fellow European hopefuls Roma on Saturday evening, Atalanta have managed to refind their form at what is a crucial time. Really starting to click into gear in the final third and cementing their spot as one of the most exciting teams across Europe, La Dea have bagged 13 goals in just their last four domestic appearances, including what was a stunning 7-0 win over Torino last month. Securing back-to-back Champions League victories against Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb, there is no doubt that the Italian outfit will be confident of making another attacking statement in midweek.

As for the visitors, while Valencia may have managed to come from behind twice against a struggling Atletico last weekend, it does not cover what has become a sluggish patch for the Bats. Including being hit with what an abysmal 3-0 hammering away at Getafe earlier in the month, Albert Celades’s men also have a growing reputation for their issues away from the Estadio de Mestalla. Including that crushing defeat at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, the Whites have landed just a sole La Liga victory on the road since the 2nd of November. In a battle between two sides who have continued to show some worrying isues at the back and plenty of firepower in the final third, we’re backing another lively encounter on Wednesday night.
