Two sides who are famous for producing lively encounters, runaway league leaders Dundalk will travel to Londonderry on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, after picking up another impressive point against Europa League contenders Bohemians earlier in the week, Declan Devine’s side are enjoying a four-match unbeaten run in Ireland’s top flight, including a dramatic 2-2 draw against title dark horses Shamrock last month. Still with an outside shot of bringing European football to Londonderry next season, a huge part of their recent rise has come thanks to their continued showings in the final third. After putting four past Derry a fortnight ago and with a League Cup semi-final on the horizon, Friday’s hosts have bagged two or more goals in four of their last six.

As for the visitors, putting in yet another commanding performance in their 3-0 win over Waterford on Monday, Dundalk are storming towards back-to-back league crowns. Already bagging a very impressing 44 goals this season and averaging over two goals per game, the Reds are enjoying an eight-match winning run and have yet to taste defeat since the middle of April. Playing out a 2-2 draw when the two sides met back in May and now with six of the last seven contests between the two sides seeing over 2.5 goals, we’re backing another lively encounter on Friday.
