Continuing on what has been a very worrying run of form during pre-season, Liverpool will face off against Lyon at the Stade de Genève on Wednesday evening.

Starting with a struggling Liverpool side, putting in yet another very worrying display in their 3-0 hammering against Napoli in Scotland over the weekend, Jurgen Klopp’s side have endured a sluggish end to their pre-season preparations. Without a win in any of their last four appearances, including defeats against Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla out in the States, Liverpool’s German boss will be growing more concerned by his sides’ continued defensive issues. Along with shipping a trio of goals against Gli Azzurri on Saturday, the Premier League outfit have shipped two or more goals in each of their last four outings.

As for the Lyon, while very disappointing back-to-back defeats against Servette and Genoa may have had many worried about Sylvinho’s appointment back in May, the French outfit did really impress in their 2-1 win over Arsenal in North London over the weekend. With Champions League football once again secured for the Groupama Stadium this season, one man to watch for Les Gones will be the red-hot Moussa Dembélé. Still linked with a potential move to Manchester United this summer, the former Celtic man bagged a brace at the Emirates on Saturday and also recorded 15 Ligue 1 goals last year. In a contest that could prove to be an incredibly lively encounter at the Stade de Genève in midweek, we’re backing over 2.5 goals between the two sides at full-time.
