Two sides with their sights set on clinching the Eastern Conference outright this year, Louisville will travel to New Jersey on Sunday night.

Starting with the hosts, picking up an emphatic 3-1 win away at Atlanta II last weekend, New York Red Bulls’ second team appear to have re-found their form. With an opportunity to leapfrog Tampa Bay Rowdies to top spot in the East, a huge part of their title charge has come thanks to their form in the final third. Also holding a game over the teams around them, the New Jersey outfit hold the best-attacking record in either of the Conferences. Despite recording just a single clean sheet since the start of May, Sunday’s hosts have now bagged 12 goals in their last three showings on home soil.

As for the visitors, despite slumping to a 2-1 defeat against MLS outfit Cincinnati in midweek, Louisville would have taken away plenty of positives. With the chance to leapfrog New York to second place in the Eastern Conference, John Hackworth’s men are enjoying a five-match unbeaten run in America’s second-tier. Much like the hosts, Louisville are also enjoying their own resurge in the final third. Already averaging two goals per game at the start of the new season, Sunday’s visitors have bagged eight goals in their last three appearances and have scored two or more goals in six of their last seven USL showings.
